Topic: Shaving Lubricant

Try using hair conditioner rather than shaving cream when shaving in the shower. - C.C.

If you are going to use oil for shaving lubricant, try baby oil. It's see through and cheap. - Louis Martin

Try using the shaving cream sold in tubes (looks just like toothpaste).  It gives a far better cut with less irritation to the skin and it's cheaper. - Jonnhol

Topic: Razor Blades

Do not shave with a dull blade.  You will end up with many nicks and cuts. - J. D.

Topic: Quick Shaving

For a fast shave, use an electric razor rather than a blade.  The results won't be as smooth, but it will save you some time if you're in a hurry.

Topic: Precision Shaving

For extreme precision, try using shaving oil rather than shaving cream for lubrication.  The oil is transparent which will allow for a better view of the area being shaved.

While grooming  hard to see areas of your face, try using a hand mirror to improve your view.

To keep a really well groomed piece of complicated facial hair, try shaving without shaving cream around the edges.

Topic: Sideburns

To keep well groomed sideburns, buy a hand mirror so that you can get a good view of each sideburn while you shave.  Become accustomed to holding the mirror in one hand, and shaving with the other.

Topic: Chinstrap Beards

When carving out a chinstrap beard, use your jawbone as a guide.  Also, to trim the hairs which grow under the ear lobe, place the side edge of the razor blade against the back of the ear lobe and go straight down a few times.

Topic: General Shaving Tip

When shaving, fill the sink up with hot water to rinse off the razor.  It is 10x better than rinsing the razor using running water from the tap. It will really help if your razor frequently gets hair stuck between the blades.

Before shaving, wash your face with hot water.  This will soften the hairs for a smoother shave as well as clean your face which will help nicks and cuts heal faster.
